- Massage Therapist (Sports and Deep Tissue)
Description
Verdure Sports Massage is a small, well-established sports massage practice on Solano Ave in Albany. We're hiring a part-time therapist for 1 to 3 days per week to start, with room to scale up as your client base grows.
Our clients include Cal athletes, a few Olympians, people rehabbing alongside physical therapy, everyday athletes of all ages, and everyone in between. What they all have in common is that they come in wanting targeted work. Someone has a cranky IT band, a shoulder that's lost its range, a race on the calendar, and a lot of the time we'll spend the whole session on one area. After the work, we pull up a 3D anatomy model on the iPad and walk the client through what we did and why. Our clients typically know their bodies well, so you'll want to be comfortable explaining things in plain language and answering questions.
We value reliability, professionalism, and a good anatomy foundation. Show up on time, treat clients well, and we can train the rest. If you want to get good at targeted, outcome-driven work, this would be a great fit for you.
Pay is $16.90 an hour for every hour you're on the clock, plus 25% commission on every service. That commission works out to:
45 min: $32.50
60 min: $40
75 min: $46.25
90 min: $52.50
120 min: $68.75
Our most common session is the 60-minute, which comes to about $57 for the hour once you add the base. This is a W-2 position with paid sick leave and workers' comp, not a 1099 contract.
To apply, tell us a bit about how you work, and include a resume and cover letter.
